We are digging deeper into the cold, leaning towards Christmas and a new year. I have to finish shopping, to get the ends all tied up. There is still popcorn, cranberries and other dried fruits to string. They decorate and add a sense of fullness to the house, to the rats cage. There is always something so welcoming about dried foods and other traditional holiday adornments. I love the smell of pine, of fresh garlands strung about a house. They are a sign that winter is truly upon us and that we need to cuddle into blankets and warm our feet by the fire or heaters.

The boys are deep into hammocks, they come out for food and petting. I find cage cleaning easier this time of year. They dont like the coolness anymore than I do. No more crowding at the cage door, begging treats. It will be like this for the next few months. I will drag birthday boys out as thier day gets here, but quickly they run back to the warmth of a rat pile. I think they hate the health checks. Cuddle blankets are changed out every other day and I spot clean everyday. Its a habit that brings me both comfort and joy. I take great pride in well cared for and happy pets.

Happy Holidays All!!!
