Chubbs reminds me a lot of Vroo as a baby. The whining has been hilarious the last week, but it’s been quieter as he learns how he fits in with the crew. Vroo was the same way and seeing Chubbs act the same way has brought back many memories and a lot of laughter.

They have been piled in groups that I wouldn’t have thought would work and it’s funny to see it. Vroo with Fes and Urn…little Chubbs squished under them all, blissful and warm. The uncles have settled into routine again, they always seem the most interested in the newcomers and once they accept him, all is well. Fergus has decided Chubbs is no longer worth power grooming, I bet Chubbs is grateful for that.

Someone has ruined the cage liner. I caught Boo and Chubbs both chewing and working it over, so it was one or more likely both. It’s funny, they just ruin my attempts at adding ease to my cleaning routines. So much for stripping the pan and wiping it down, I guess it will be back to scrubbing. Oh well, could be much worse LOL

Turkey Day is coming up and once again I will be looking for ideas to make the Holiday a little more friendly to the rats waistlines (hmm, do they even have waistlines? LOL). The older boys do love pumpkin pie and I give them each a small bite, it’s such a little thing, but it seems to mean so much. Yes, I need to be looking out for their long term health, but my heart is far too soft to deny any of them a much loved treat. My beloved Fergus, always the first to the door when he smells the pumpkin pie coming, still slightly warm for them. The contented bruxing as they lay with a full belly is worth a moment of guilt for giving them a not so healthy treat.

Chubbs will be our official Fall cage accessory =D, his coat has changed to a very becoming orange, really stunning. He will be a handsome manrat and I am looking forward to the next few months, watching him grow up.
