So I’m testing some new breakfast items out with the boys. I found some organic baby yogurt in pear, they really loved that. I am mixing it with a rice cereal and some soy milk. It’s thick enough for them not to make a huge mess, woohoo for easy clean up. I am also working on a new version of rat muffins. I need a way to get rid of excess fat without ruining the smell factor and texture. I may go with a sour cream type muffin and replace sour cream with yogurt. I laugh at myself, the lengths I will go to looking for the boys good things to eat. Hey let’s change some of those 30 Minute Meal recipes into something that’s rat friendly and tasty!!!

I have been paging through the favorites here and much to my delight I see that Cove Rattery has some interesting babies, they look like pumpkins! So pretty and fawn colored. Mom says they are very cute and we will be seeing them soon. I wonder what she means by that?
I love babies, I love to cuddle with them and share their extra rich breakfasts and dinners. I have to watch so Uncle Wembley doesn’t groom them too much. He means well and only wants them to smell like us, I think it scares tiny fellas a bit. Uncle Fergie really doesnt care as long as Mom pays the most attention to him. He gets so dopey eyed when she comes to the cage and bruxes for her. Fergie loves Mom alot and I know she loves him right back. She loves us all, so does Adrienne.
Hey Sarah..Mom said to let you know that the comments are going to be more closely moderated =D
I’m gonna go, I heard Hector tell Fes that we are having some warm soy milk with our granola this evening. I don’t want to miss that.

It’s getting colder at night, time to start winterizing around here I think. The boys are staying piled in the hammie longer in the morning and heading there earlier at bedtime. Think we might need to pull out some heavy duty hammies for them to cuddle in. I’m also going to get out the liners I had made for the cage this past summer. They are more for Fall and will make the cage look bright and cheerful.
Funny how we decorate the cage for “them”. They would be happy with a warm place to sleep, good food and cuddles from the humans, but we feel this need to coordinate a cage. I like to see them in bright fleeces and warm sherpas as the weather gets colder. They have warm flannel lined cubes and hidey hammies that have a fleece lined pocket to cuddle into. There is heavy cotton to make sure the tiny feet arent walking in puddles of anything!
I have to clean the cage today and I think I will sit down with the uncles and see if they feel like a pretty leaf pattern theme or maybe some pumpkins…pre-jack o’ lantern stage?
Enjoy this beautiful Fall weather everyone and dont forget to add an extra hammie and a snuggly blankie for the ratties in your life!

Finding the time to be domestic can be a bit tough. I am the Alpha so I try my best to divy up the cage chores and make sure no rat has more than his fair share of cage work each morning before bed. I have noticed that Mom and Addie are trying to help me out with this endeavor by “cleaning” in their own sweet, yet oddly over done hooman way. Addie actually changed our linens for the third time this week!!!! I do my best to ask her not to clean up our manly rat smell that way, she smiles and cuddles me and keeps on cleaning. I have also heard them talking about ordering new linens for the coming cool weather. I don’t even know what cool weather is, we live in a very nicely controlled environment. Mom makes sure we stay cool when we need to be and snuggly warm when she tells us it’s cold outside.
Hoomans are an odd bunch, but I have some pretty good ones taking care of my brother and our nephews.
Until next time friends..keep the snackies rolling!!!
