March 2007

So much going on!!! Forms to fill out for the NIRO show, hotel plans to get in order. It’s alot to do in the next couple of months. We also have to rig up some comfy cages for the boys to travel in. We are really hoping to see the Azure kids get some recognition and what-not. They truly are beautiful rats, well bred with awesome temperments.

I will be showing Fergus, Fesarius, Wembley, Urn and Vroo. Still trying to figure out a way to get the other two babies before show. I will just have to see what I can manage.

Ok, so I convinced myself (briefly) that 6 rats was plenty, it was a good even number to have. Valerie then told me she had picked the perfect boy out of her current liter for Adrienne and I. He wears a mark of shame in the black litter, he is an Irish. He has a gorgeous splotch of white on his chest. The litter theme is Italian Wines, our boy is AZUR Reserva Chianti

OK, so they aren’t literally falling on us from above, but we do have a few coming home this weekend and that’s always cause for celebration and jumps of joy.

Fesarius, Vespasian and Mr. Freshy will be joining us this weekend and enjoying a three week period of QT/fattening before joining the older boys in the “roomy” Ferret Nation. Vespa will be going home with Scott at the end of his three weeks here with us, but he definately won’t be alone or cramped for space. We may also be picking up another of my beloved Fergies boys, please note that Mr. Freshy is a son of his.

Valerie has a new litter and they are just as cute and gummi bear-looking as always. Another exciting arrival will be FSTR Boo Berry!!! He won’t be joining us until April. I just had his cage layette completed yesterday. His litter theme is breakfast cereals, so his hammies and cube were made with a Trix cereal print flannel, I thought it was very cute and appropriate. A big thank you to Jesi for doing such an awesome, incredible job…and so blazing fast.

So much going on, so many things to get ready. I think we may have to ready another nursery cage for Mr. Freshy and a brother. I will have to see what happens when we pick him up on Saturday night.

Im so excited and looking forward to the new additions to the family. Babies are always funny and playful, they make the everyday pretty much extraordianry with their antics.

Adrienne is setting up a “photo shoot”, hopefully it works out as planned. She is trying to get some really cute pictures of the boys with her clarinet. I guess she is looking for a musical motif this time around. Hey, if we had a beer stien and some shamrocks, I could get them looking like little leprechauns!!! I will have to make sure to post the hilarity that is bound to follow the rats as she tries to take their pics.

Rats rats rats!!!!It makes me laugh when all of the boys are out and about. I seem to have a severe rodent problem, yet all of these fellas are very tame *wink*. They make life entertaining to say the very least. I expect to have Fes go into QT next weekend, maybe a Fergus boy as well. Im hoping to get a baby from FarStar rattery as well. Im admiring an agouti self dumbo rex (now if thats wrong, someone please correct me).

Im wanting the third level for the FN cage, I think it would just open up things nicely for the ratkids. They have plenty of room now, but I am always wanting bigger and better for them!
