January 2007

Goo’s litter is due anytime now! Her due date is actually today, but rats can be a bit off with that at times. We are hoping for some typey, gorgeous rats!!! I’m hoping for enough boys in the litter so that I can have one. It’s all just so exciting!

We are going up to Valerie’s on Friday to pick up the new batch of babies! I cannot wait, I know Adrienne is on pins and needles with excitement!!! It will be wonderful to see Val and her gang. Couldn’t have worked out better with the day off from school. It’s nice when things just seem to work out like they are supposed to. Now let’s just hope for good weather there and back!!!!

Valerie has a new litter over at Azure Ridge Rattery. So congratulations to the new mommy, Star!!! She gave birth to six girls and six boys. I cant wait to see how this litter develops.

Just as soon as I get a chance I will have Scott link the site so everyone can enjoy the gummi bear goodness that is newborn ratties!!!!

The boys would like to wish their favorite girl a very HAPPY HAPPY 10th Birthday!!!!!

They want to thank her for her always gentle pets, loving snuggles and making sure their cage stays clean and cozy for them.

Adrienne, the boys love you very much!!!

I have been noticing that lately Vroo seems to always be the one flipping his uncles and grooming them!!! I am wondering if there is going to be a turnabout as far as alphas go in my cage. Wembley, while always being congenial and quite pleasant, has been top rat. He always makes sure that Fergus understands this and for the longest, Vroo as well. Imagine my surprise this morning to see Wembley on his back, feet in the air and Vroo very busily grooming his uncles belly. I assume nothing at this point and find myself more often than not amused by the antics in the cage. Each of these rats has a very distinct personality and they are very different from one another. The one thing they share? A love for cozy hammocks and cuddly cubes (thanks Astrid for always making sure my boys have the best cubes to snuggle in!!!).

I am looking forward to Urn coming home. Of course, it will be the end of February before he meets his uncles and cousin, but I don’t look for intros to be much a problem. These boys have been very accepting of one another and don’t seem to mind other rats all that much. Besides, they have an enormous cage to spread out into!!!

We should be getting new pics up this evening and I’m looking forward to that very much. The boys all look so handsome and all grown up.
