Nugi is an interesting little fella. He was a bit skittish when we first brought him home on Labor Day, but in the weeks since he has mellowed to quite a friendly rat. Its interesting though to see the difference in personalities. Both Wembley and Fergus are happy go lucky and always thrilled to see someone coming towards the cage. They will run and jump onto the bars and wait for scritches, snacks or just one of us to speak to them. Nugi can be a bit more reserved at times, but I have noticed these last few days he has come running more often and thats a great sight! His breeder told me that the line he comes from is full of grabby, snacky ratties LOL Nugi sure is that, he loves a snack and will be greedy if he is allowed. He is a sweet boy though. This morning I had him out, he sat happily on my shoulder. He bruxes so loudly!! Its very endearing and I truly adore him. I love that he is a bit of a drama king and squeaks in protest at both Wembley and Fergus grooming him to much or whatever they do in the evenings LOL. He is definately a talker and you know who is doing what by the way he squeaks at them. Im looking forward to seeing him as an adult. He is a handsome boy, his fur is a bit more heavily silvered towards his rump, but at the shoulders he is a rich black, its very attractive. That long dark tail, with the white tip is adorable.
Nugi would make a good extra in some monster movie, he is the perfect sinister black rat LOL OK, not really, he is far to gentle and looks like a fancy rat, nothing sewerish about this boy.

The new pictures are up and the boys all look very handsome. We are very proud of our trio and hope people are coming to see them. Rats do make great pets and are wonderful furries to have.
Nugi is comfortable with his cage mates and they all get along with a minimum amount of squeak. I expect they will fuss over things as they get older, we still have to get through puberty with them LOL.
They are still sleeping, they usually wake up and get rowdy at about eight or so. I will occassionally wake them for some playtime ,but not often. I prefer to let them do what they will on their own schedule. More often than not they are happy to see us no matter what time of day it is.
Wembley is quite attached to Adrienne and seems to seek her out when he is awake. Its all rather sweet. I know she adores him and will often carry him around the house with her when he is awake. Myself I love them all equally and play with whomever wants to come out of the cage. Both Nugi and Fergus love a good romp and enjoy climbing on their cage as a form of exercise. Now why dont they find it as much fun while inside? LOL
Ah well, rats will be rats.

Well, this is progressing along just fine. The site has a new look and I’ll be working on another makeover at some point. The nice thing is that with WordPress, I can go back to any template that I’ve set up with the click of one button. Easy simple and best of all, it was free software.
Now, with that said. I did notice that yesterday or the day before the site had hit 50 posts already. I honestly didn’t think it was that high but the logs don’t lie. We have hit 50 posts already.
Anyway, we’ve put up some new pictures in the gallery. Take a look. We have some of Nugent, which I don’t think have been put online before.

The babies were out for a romp just a bit ago. They love to run around and explore things. Even places they regularly play are fun and exciting every time they are let out for free time. Sounds like little criminals being let out of the cell for some exercise! LOL

Scott says my babies look like furry pears, LOL. Now that I sit to think and look at pictures, maybe he has something there. They are soft and rounded, sleek coats and bright eyes, maybe they do have a slight pear shape when you hold them up. I scritched Nugi behind the ears earlier this mornng, just the way he likes it. I love to watch him close his tiny eyes and sigh in rattie pleasure. He now comes when he is called (ok, most of the time), eager to see whats being offered, happy with a snack or some attention. I have noticed he doesnt like the sweets as much as my beloved fraggle babies. Maybe they are just spoiled, allowed to snack as they please be it a sweet or savory tidbit. He does love frenchtoast, happy to snack the evening away on bits. They all love a drip of syrup, eagerly lapping it up off the plate. They waited patiently this morning for yogurt and cereal, not rushing the dish as they usually do. I wondered if they were maybe growing up a bit and behaving more as adults, then I realized they had spent the night gorging on their regular food mix. The bowl was completely empty!!!! I guess breakfast wasnt as big a deal as it normally was, they were fatted and sated.
Sweet little rat boys, growing up into squishy lovable rat men.
